Moving from Resistance to Resilience
Course duration: One day programme with follow-up contact three months later for each participant.
Aims and objectives
- To familiarise participants with what happens in the change process
- To equip participants with the tools to manage change on a personal and professional level
- To enable participants develop the resilience needed for an ever-changing work environment
Who should attend
The programme is designed for all employees of the companies who are impacted by change.
Course content
Programme Outline
There will be two stages to the process, attendance on a one-day training programme and follow-up contact between trainer and participant three months later to discuss how much of the programme they were able to use subsequently.
The Training Programme will cover the following topics:
- Moving through the change process – loss, limbo and life. (with reference to William Bridges’ book Managing Transitions)
- How different people cope with change – being a change agent and a change receiver.
- Overcoming resistance to find resilience
- Mapping my change journey
- Action Planning
Programme Methodology
As with all THRIVE programmes, the training will be interactive and participative and include a variety of methodologies – small group work, presenter led input, individual reflection, case studies, etc.
Skills learned
Participants will:
- Have a clear understanding of what happens to people and businesses in times of change
- Have the necessary knowledge and skillset to overcome difficulties in the change process
- Have an action plan as to how best to do this.
